Professional Background

I am a Registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA Reg. 26651), having special interest in palliative care, serious illness, grief and  bereavement support.

My work is grounded in compassion, emotional safety and practical guidance, supporting clients through some of life’s most challenging chapters.

I have experience working with palliative clients in hospice settings, supporting NDIS participants, and providing in-home counselling for Aged Care (Support at Home) participants, as well as working with private clients and families who need calm, professional support during times of uncertainty, loss and transition.

Creative Work

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked full-time as a ceramic artist, and creativity remains a meaningful part of my identity.

When appropriate, I also incorporate gentle art-therapy–informed approaches into counselling to support clients who find it easier to express and understand emotions through creativity, reflection, imagery or symbolic work.

Today, alongside my counselling services, a significant part of my time is dedicated to creating joyful personalised ashes urns — pieces designed to honour a loved one’s life and celebrate their presence with beauty, warmth and meaning.

This work reflects my belief that love continues, and that remembrance can be expressed through art that feels personal, gentle and deeply respectful.

Personal Life

Outside of counselling, I am a wife and mother of three boys aged between 13 and 20, and family life is at the centre of who I am. I am Japanese Brazilian, and I have proudly called Australia home for the past 24 years, which has shaped my values, perspective and cultural sensitivity.

I’m passionate about living fully and staying connected — whether that’s sharing time with friends and family, running along the beach at sunrise, or finding peace in nature when life feels busy.

These simple moments bring me grounding, perspective and gratitude, and they strongly influence the way I support others through grief, illness and change.

Honour life

Celebrate presence

Celebrate presence

Each Saudade Urn is created as a tribute to a life that mattered. I sit with the photos and memories you share, and I allow your loved one’s story to guide the colours, symbols and details that will be held on the piece.

It’s not about perfection, it is about meaning. A gentle way to honour their personality, their essence, and the moments you will carry forever.

Celebrate presence

Celebrate presence

Celebrate presence

Grief can feel heavy, but love remains and sometimes what we need is a reminder of that love in a form we can see and touch.

A Saudade Urn is designed to honour a dear one’s  life and celebrate their presence. A warm reminder that love remains, beautifully and forever. It is a joyful tribute, designed to hold memory, meaning and connection.

Hold love forever

Celebrate presence

Hold love forever

This is not just a vessel, it is a keepsake of connection. Handmade in my studio on the Gold Coast, each Saudade Urn is created with patience, care and a deep respect for your grief journey.

It holds what is precious but it also holds love, the love that remains. A lasting tribute to remind you that love continues to live, quietly and faithfully.

Questions Patients, Carers & Clinicians Commonly Ask

Please reach us at hello@flyhome.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Counselling provides a safe space to process fear, sadness, uncertainty, identity changes, and the emotional impact of illness. We work on coping strategies, acceptance, communication, legacy and meaning-making - always at your pace.

Yes. Anxiety, fear and uncertainty are natural responses. Together, we explore grounding tools, ACT and mindfulness-based approaches, and emotional stabilization strategies that bring calm and clarity.

That's completely okay. Your guide the session. Some clients need emotional support for daily coping, relationships, or identity changes long before discussing end-of-life topics.

Yes, with your consent. I often support communication between patients and loved ones to reduce tension, misunderstanding and emotional pressure.

Completely. Carer fatigue, emotional overload, resentment, guilt and exhaustion are common. Counselling gives carers tools to regulate emotions, set boundaries and cope with the intensity of caregiving.

We work on grounding practices, emotional pacing, communication strategies and building your own support system so you can care with compassion without sacrificing yourself.

It is grief that begins before a loss - when your heart is already grieving what hasn't happened yet. This is extremely common among carers. Counselling helps you navigate this without drowning in it.

I guide carers in age-appropriate communication, emotional reassurance and ways to create honest yet gentle conversations within the family.

Yes. Illness often brings tension. I support families with communication, expectation-setting, emotional regulation and understanding of each person's coping style.

Grief can appear as sadness, numbness, anger, guilt, confusion or relief. All are normal. Counselling helps you understand and navigate your unique grief without judgement.

There is no timeline. Grief changes shape over time, but it is not something to 'get over'. We work together to create stability, meaning and gentle forward movement.

Yes. Regret and unfinished conversations are common. We explore these gently using narrative work, meaning reconstruction and self-compassion strategies.
